Laporan pertama diterima pukul 14.30 WITA lewat radio. Tak butuh waktu lama, tim dari Regu 03 Mako dan Pos Damkar Loktuan langsung diberangkatkan.
“Tim tiba di lokasi pukul 14.40 WITA, dan api berhasil dipadamkan total satu jam kemudian,” kata Sarkani, Kepala Bidang Pengendalian Operasional Damkar Bontang.
Untuk memadamkan api, Damkar Bontang mengerahkan: 1 unit mobil pemadam bertekanan sedang; 1 unit supply dari Mako; 1 unit kendaraan pendukung bertipe firedome. Tim medis dari Damkar juga disiagakan di lokasi
Kerja cepat dan koordinasi solid membuat api tak sempat meluas. Hingga akhir operasi, tidak ada korban jiwa maupun luka-luka.
Musim kemarau mulai menunjukkan dampaknya. Cuaca panas dan angin kering membuat hutan dan lahan di sekitar Bontang rawan terbakar.
“Kesiapan ini bagian dari komitmen kami menjaga keselamatan warga dan lingkungan,” ujar Sarkani.
Ia mengimbau warga untuk lebih waspada terhadap aktivitas yang berpotensi memicu kebakaran, seperti membakar sampah sembarangan atau membuang puntung rokok di area terbuka.
“Satu percikan kecil bisa berakibat besar kalau tidak ditangani cepat,” tegasnya.
Kecepatan respon dan keberhasilan memadamkan api dalam waktu singkat mendapat apresiasi dari warga dan pihak terkait.
