BONTANG– Dua atlet muda binaan Kodim 0908/Bontang berhasil mengharumkan nama daerah di ajang 2nd East Borneo International Taekwondo Championship 2025. Kejuaraan bergengsi ini berlangsung di GOR Segiri, Samarinda, pada 17–20 Juli 2025.
Prestasi itu diraih oleh: Greivance Jericho (kategori Kyorugi Pra Cadet A Under 30 Putra) dan Ayesha Elfairus Arsya Prastiya (kategori Kyorugi Pra Cadet B Under 37 Putri)
Keduanya sukses menyabet medali perak di kelas masing-masing setelah bertarung melawan atlet dari berbagai penjuru Indonesia dan luar negeri.
Ajang ini diikuti sekira 920 atlet dari 15 provinsi di Indonesia, serta 58 dojang se-Kalimantan Timur. Bahkan, atlet dari luar negeri seperti Korea Selatan, Malaysia, dan Filipina turut meramaikan kompetisi, membuat atmosfer pertandingan kian ketat.
Meski bersaing di level internasional, kedua atlet muda asal Bontang tetap tampil gemilang.
Letkol Inf Aryo Bagus Daryanto, Komandan Kodim 0908/Bontang, menyampaikan rasa bangganya atas prestasi anak didiknya.
“Ini bukti nyata bahwa kerja keras dan disiplin dalam latihan tidak pernah mengkhianati hasil. Kami akan terus mendukung pengembangan mereka ke jenjang lebih tinggi,” ujarnya.
Ia menegaskan bahwa Kodim Bontang bukan hanya fokus pada pertahanan dan keamanan, tapi juga aktif membina generasi muda melalui olahraga berprestasi.
Keterlibatan Kodim 0908/Bontang dalam membina atlet taekwondo menjadi sinyal kuat bahwa institusi militer juga berperan penting dalam pembangunan sumber daya manusia, khususnya di bidang olahraga.
Tak hanya mencetak juara, pembinaan ini juga bertujuan membentuk karakter, mental juang, dan disiplin sejak dini.
